Bouzouki Lessons

Step into the rich world of Greek folk music through the expressive sound of the bouzouki! These lessons are open to students of ages and levels, from absolute beginners to more experienced players who want to deepen their technique and connection to the Rebetiko tradition.

Guided by a passionate and experienced teacher, you’ll explore the fundamentals of bouzouki playing, with attention to both technical development and musical expression within the Rebetiko and broader Greek folk repertoire.

Each 1:1 lesson is tailored to your level and musical interests, and includes:

  • Exercises to improve technique, posture, and sound production

  • Music theory relevant to the style, explained in a practical and accessible way

  • Study of tunes and excerpts from traditional and urban folk repertoire

  • Opportunities to play in duet with the teacher to develop rhythm, phrasing, and ensemble awareness

Students will focus not only on learning how to play, but also on understanding the musical language and cultural roots of this iconic instrument.

No bouzouki? No problem!
Beginner students may use one of the teacher’s instruments during lesson time as a starting point while they decide on their own instrument.

Group Lessons
Group classes may also be arranged depending on interest and number of participants. These sessions offer a great way to learn together, share musical ideas, and experience the bouzouki as part of an ensemble.

The lessons are given in English, Dutch and Greek.
