NIKOS TSOP LIVE, Folk music from Planet Hearth
NIKOS TSOP LIVE @ De Molen | ArtHouse
Folk music from Planet Hearth
Nikos Tsop is a folk singer-songwriter from Salonica, Greece. A troubadour of tales, prophecies and ever lasting vibrations. His voice in Greek and English and guitar in Planethearthian while fragile and mellow, create an intimate -almost tangible- atmosphere.
However, his blues and rock ‘n’ roll influences are still vibrant in his performances that often reach high levels of energy and volumes! Philosophical and breezy, powerful and loud, his music is all about bringing the worlds of magic and reality together in song to sound the cosmic synergy into the eternal voyd of the echoing giggles.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Bob Dylan Sarah Vaughan, Mary Oliver, Tom Robins, Nikos Tsop is weaving a kaleidoscopic rug that suits the weather all year long. His sound and style are incorporating the influence of folk music when it comes to the fluidity of form and variation in melody depending on every given moment creating a unique experience of every performance.
His most recent album was recorded after the nickname TSOP SKG and is dedicated to the GLOBAL SUMUD FLOATILLA fleat of freedom to break the illegal seige in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid.
Let's go fly a kite!

D. Lappas | Ta sketa kai ta A-sketa
Dimitris Lappas | Τα σκέτα και τα Ά-σκετα (Ta sketa kai ta A-sketa)
The renowned virtuoso, joined by his longtime friends and collaborators — Marios Makris on guitar and Lita Kollia on vocals — invite you to a unique and intimate musical gathering on May 22nd.
The evening’s program features songs from his collaboration with Sokratis Malamas, “Ta Sketa” (“The Bare Ones”), alongside A-sketa — unreleased pieces that carry the same emotional depth and artistic authenticity as the ones that made it to record.
This performance is rooted in the expressive power of the instruments, the distinctive musical voices of the performers, and their dynamic interaction on stage — all in a meaningful dialogue with the sensitive and captivating voice of Lita Kollia.
Together, they shape a musical experience filled with inspiration, substance, creativity, and deep listening — offering a moment of connection and a hopeful glimpse toward a more conscious, brighter, and humane world.

Music Workshop / Concert - "From the West to the East”
"From the West to the East”
DeMolen Art House welcomes the renowned soloist Dimitris Lappas on a musical journey “from the West to the East.” Discover the vibrant world where Greek folk music meets jazz, rock, and contemporary sounds in an inspiring hands-on workshop.
The workshop is open to all levels, from curious beginners to advanced players. Everyone will find inspiring ideas, practical tools, and musical perspectives they can use, regardless of their background or experience.
Instruments
Acoustic / Electric / Fretless Guitar
Six-string / Eight-string Bouzouki
Structure of the day
The workshop day is divided into two focused sessions:
Session 1 (12:00–15:30)– Guitar (Acoustic / Electric / Fretless Guitar)
This first session is mainly dedicated to different types of guitar. We will explore technique, sound, improvisation, and accompaniment in different styles, with plenty of practical examples and play‑along moments tailored to guitarists.
Session 2 (16:00-19:30) – Bouzouki (Six-string / Eight-string Bouzouki)
The second session centers on two different bouzouki instruments of six and eight strings, delving into Greek folk modes, phrasing, rhythm, and how the bouzouki can move between traditional and modern musical contexts.
Across both sessions, we will:
Dive into improvisation in various musical styles, from Greek folk and rebetiko to jazz and modern fusion.
Work on technique, orchestration, exercises, and repertoire you can continue to develop at home.
Learn how to play within an ensemble: listening, responding, leaving space, and building musical conversations with others.
Explore the harmonization of Greek folk modes and their relationship with jazz modes.
Focus on shaping your personal sound (touch, tone, phrasing, dynamics), and how to achieve the sound you want.
Discover study methods and ways of musical thinking that make your practice more focused, creative, and enjoyable.
Concert
After the workshops the day will conclude with an acoustic Guitar Duo Concert w/ Dimitris Lappas and Marios Makris. The concert starts at 20:00.

"Echoes of Athens"
“Echoes of Athens”
“Echoes of Athens” is a musical journey through time and memory.
Rebetika songs for guitar and bouzouki, and two voices, unfold stories of longing, exile, and everyday poetry. From the shores of Asia Minor to the streets and cafés of pre- and post-war Athens, these melodies carry the breath of the sea, the dust of the city, and the quiet resilience of those who lived, loved, and dreamed.
Giorgos and Christos have been making music together for the past seven years, sharing a deep musical bond shaped by time, friendship, and a common love for this repertoire.
An intimate concert where past and present meet, and Athens sings through its echoes.
