Stelios

Stelios Ladopoulos is a multi-instrumentalist based in the Netherlands. Currently in the final year of the Bachelor’s program in Jazz Guitar at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, he is also proficient in oud and bouzouki, which allows him to explore a wide range of musical traditions and textures.

As a composer and performer, his work blends the improvisational language of jazz with the modal richness of Eastern Mediterranean music, while also drawing on genres such as gypsy jazz, funk, soul, experimental ambient, and shoegaze. He has performed in diverse contexts, from orchestras and traditional weddings to intimate bar gigs and large open-air concerts.

Stelios has deepened his artistic and technical expertise through workshops and masterclasses with acclaimed artists, including Ross Daly (Structure & Phrasing of Makam), Yurdal Tokcan (oud), Bill Frisell, Shai Maestro, and Ben Wendel. He has also studied with prominent musicians such as guitarists Jonathan Kreisberg, Julian Lage, Thodoris Kotsifas (Next Step Quintet), Konstantinos Mitropoulos (Gadjo Dilo), Giannis Loukatos (Hot Club de Grèce), Haig Yazdjian (oud), and bassist Panagiotis Andreou.

Beyond live performance, Stelios is active as a sound engineer and music producer, collaborating across a wide range of genres and projects. While based in the Netherlands, he has also performed internationally in France, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Turkey, and Finland.
