Nefeli

Mainly active on the baroque violin, I hold a Master's on historically informed performance practice from HKU Conservatorium. Besides early music, I am interested in interdisciplinary performance, improvisation and experimental works. At the moment I am happy to be in active collaboration with ensemble Dialoghi trio and Camerata Utricia.

About the lessons:

My method depends on you- every student is unique! Of course my own approach to the instrument creates the base for all my methods. I focus on building the basics of technique in a clear and relaxed way, opening the possibilities of the instrument to whichever musical path you choose.

I like to structure my lessons into three sections: comfortability with the instrument, progressing and maintaining technique, and engagement with musical works. For the first, we will find simple exercises to build comfort and sustainability with holding and playing the violin. For the second, technique, we will build an arsenal of exercises and the approach to them. Lastly, and very importantly, we will play music! I find it very rewarding to play together or with another musician- if that reflects your wishes too, rest assured that we will find repertoire to play together and musical colleagues to collaborate!

My approach to teaching younger students of 5-11 years old is based on the same principles, but from the point of view of playful engagement. Music theory and instrumental skills are combined in a playful way that creates a relaxed and rewarding experience.

Lessons are possible in English, Nederlands,  Ελληνικά
