This ensemble focuses on the unique and beautiful polyphonic traditions found across various regions of Greece. Through carefully guided weekly sessions, you'll develop your ear for harmony, strengthen your vocal technique, and build confidence in singing as part of a group. Whether you're an experienced singer or new to vocal music, you'll find an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages growth, creativity, and musical connection.
Each session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes and includes:
Vocal warm-ups and technique tailored to traditional singing styles
Repertoire work focusing on songs from Epirus, the Aegean islands, Thrace, and other Greek regions
Practice in vocal blending, listening, and ornamentation specific to Greek polyphony
Group collaboration and interpretation
A joyful, community-based approach to music-making
More than just a class, this is a chance to immerse yourself in a vibrant oral tradition, connect with others, and share in the joy of creating music together. No prior experience in Greek music is necessary—just bring your voice and your love for singing!
The lessons are given in Greek, so a basic understanding of the language is necessary to follow instructions and engage with the material.
